Listen to Theme song: Courage in Captivity
Courage in Captivity
It happened long ago.
Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
(repeat)
Ohhhh. Ohhhh. O Yeah! O Yeah!
The Bible tells the story of the
hungry, hungry lions.
When Daniel landed in the den,
the beasts weren’t even tryin’
to chomp, chomp, chomp! NO WAY.
Chomp, chomp, chomp! Jose!
Chomp, chomp, chomp! NO WAY.
Chomp, chomp, chomp! Jose!
The Bible tells the story of
the king’s wine and food,
but Daniel and his friends said
“No way, dude!”
Vegetables and water
are all we want for now.
Keep your wine and your pork
and your cow wow-wow! Wow wow!
O Yeah. O Yeah.
The Bible
tells the story of the king’s firey furnace. //
His golden statue for all to pay tribute. //
But when the music played and it was time to bow low. //
The kids said to the king, “We don’t think so. So no.
O yeah! O yeah!
The Bible tells the story of King Belshazzar. //
He threw party to impress his neighbors. //
But since he didn’t honor God at all.//
A hand appeared and began to write on the wall.
The wall. O yeah. O yeah.

by Barrett Vanlandingam (harmony sung by 11-year old son Britton)
Some say it's a place time forgot.
A place where children grow in favor with God.
A place down by the lake on the side of a hill.
It's hotter than hot sometimes,
but our spirits are filled.
(Chorus)
Well, they call it Burnt Cabin for a reason.
A fire is kindled in each one of us.
We study God's word day and night.
It's the way it should be.
Oh Burnt Cabin, you're a part of me.
The friends we meet here, mean the world to us.
Faces never seen before they came here on a van, a car, or bus.
The smiles, the laughs, the tears.
Oh, how the time goes fast.
The love among us weaves memories that always will last.
(Chorus)
Well, they call it Burnt Cabin for a reason.
A fire is kindled in each one of us.
We study God's word day and night.
It's the way it should be.
Oh Burnt Cabin, you're a part of me.
(Chorus)
Well, they call it Burnt Cabin for a reason.
A fire is kindled in each one of us.
We study God's word day and night.
It's the way it should be.
Oh Burnt Cabin, you're a part of me.
Oh Burnt Cabin, you're a part of me.

2006 Theme:
Higher Ground
(Click above to hear theme song)
"Reaching for Higher
Ground"
by Barrett Vanlandingham
(background vocals: Ashton and Gracie)
(verse 1) A broken world
Has nothing to offer me.
Even thought I’ve tried
To find happiness down here.
(repeat)
So Lord, I’m reaching
for higher ground.
Lord, I’m reaching
for higher ground.
Where the streets are made of gold.
Where it’s never too hot nor cold.
So Lord, I’m reaching for higher ground.
(verse 2) The friends I have
They mean the world to me.
But the Lord, my God
Gives me hope for eternity.
(repeat)
So Lord, I’m reaching
for higher ground.
So Lord, I’m reaching
for higher ground.
Where we’ll see our Father’s face.
Where we’ll live in our Savior’s grace.
So Lord, I’m reaching
for higher ground.
Lord, I’m reaching
for higher ground.

Pics from Burnt Cabin 2006
284 Campers and Staff
gathered in the pavilion for
Oklahoma Christian University's New Reign Concert.
This is also where we conduct evening worship times,
and lots of other activities.
Below: Morning flagpole devotional overlooking Lake Tenkiller
in the distance where we take roll
to see which teams brought Bibles, camp books, and said
their memory verses. Then, we salute our nation's flag,
sing, pray, and read from God's word.
Below: God's plan of salvation being carried
out in one of the acts of faith required by scripture, baptism.
It is always exciting to experience the singing
and joy that takes place at the pool as we witness
this very important step in a young person's
spiritual journey.
Below: Sand Volleyball. Campers are put on teams
at the beginning of the week for the purpose of sports
and getting to know other campers better.
Below: Softball is always a "hit." We also play basketball,
water balloon volleyball, Bible trivia based on the camp theme,
and whatever other games we can think of to have a great time.
